Hot Buttered Rum Cider

Fall + hot cider + rum + butter= your cozy autumn cocktail dreams come true! Or maybe you are thinking, "really? butter in a drink?" Stick with me! It gives it a nice little creamy result you don't want to miss out on. This drink ticks all the boxes - sweet, hot, a little spicy, and rum-alicious. Serve it up at your next bonfire, I promise its gonna be a hit!


Time: 10 minutes

Serves: 4

  • 4 cups of apples cider

  • 1 cup of dark rum

  • 2 cinnamon sticks

  • 1 tablespoon of whole allspice or cloves

  • Juice of 2 lemons

  • 3 tablespoons of butter

Method:

  1. Bring cider to simmer on stove top.

  2. Add in cinnamon sticks, allspice, and lemon juice.

  3. Allow to simmer for about 8 minutes.

  4. Lastly pour in the rum and add the butter.

  5. When butter is fully melted evenly ladle drink through a sieve into four serving mugs.

  6. Garnish with cinnamon stick and apple slices if desired.

Suggestion: if you are some type of pirate maybe through another shot of rum in there!
